Ocean Edge is a historic mansion on the bay side of Cape Cod. The town of Brewster and the surrounding area are lovely. OE is a combination of a regular hotel and some sort of time-share beach houses. Management is conflicted about which audience takes priority, and this can be detrimental to groups. The meeting space is as one would expect in a historic property. There are small rooms in the mansion, and the carriage house has been expanded to accommodate larger meeting rooms. They are constructing a small wing with a small ballroom and addl. space now (summer 08).

Sleeping rooms in the main hotel are recently updated and modernized and are fantastic. Large, airy, very "Cape Cod". There are additional rooms and facilities down the road a patch. Too far to walk and shuttle service is inadequate.

Like many seasonal resorts, virtually all summer employees are young people from a variety of international locations. Training is spotty, and poor English skills cause frustration for guests.

The quality of the banquet food was good to very good, but the poor training of the banquet staff detracted from group events.

PSAV is in-house. They were outstanding.

Free WiFi everywhere on the property. A real plus.

Accounting does not have systems in place to properly handle master account billing.

There are very, very few hotels on the Cape with meeting space. If it is necessary to have a meeting on the Cape, this property is fine as long as your group is not C level, and if you carefully select your meeting rooms. Personal site inspection a must.
