Quiet and comfortable hotel; excellent restaurant

I watched the traffic below and never heard it from my room. Ah .. quiet enjoyment! Alas, the ballroom space, divided, had fairly traditional airwalls which didn't block enough sound tho' it was more the applause in the other session that seemed disruptive than the session itself.

Prior to the program at which I spoke, I had a dinner and a lunch in Crockett's, the Hotel's full service (tho' limited hours) restaurant. The food was excellent and presented beautifully; the service matched the food. Kudos! (NOTE: when ordering, if you are unlike me who loves cilantro, notice all the items - including a house dressing - that includes it. The cobb salad, one of the best I've had, also had cilantro sprinkled it in - for me, superb; for others, not so.) Also loved that our server knew the foods and could smartly recommend items.

Banquet food seemed to be less stellar - perhaps Crockett's chef can help the banquet kitchen work on their presentations.

The staff was responsive; the location is an easy ride from DFW and downtown; the guest room in which I stayed was very comfortable - high ceilings, lots of outlets and thus easy use of an iron (my usual kvetch when there are few!),working phone on bedside and desk; a desk w/ a 'bar' that allowed me to cable my laptop (YEA!) v. a funky one that looks good but provides no place for a cable.

Outdoor space is quite nice - seating areas, a lovely pool (tho' I noticed that it needed 'skimming' more often), and a 'waterway' made it serene.

I'd certainly consider this hotel for a group.

Our group had a good time here, they said food was so-so, but it was centrally located and worked well for our meeting.
