Turner Foundation Retreat Tuesday, 02 December 2008 Written by chris - Top 100 Reviewer So often we fail to provide feedback after a pleasant experience because it settles perfectly into our consciousness. Such is the case of the Turner Foundation’s September 17-19th stay at the Hotel Palomar. I would truly be remiss if I didn’t take some time to provide some feedback championing the merits and talents of your capable staff amidst a lovely and sustainable minded facility. Of special note is the unparalleled service provided by Chris Wilcox during the planning process and execution of our accomodations, board meeting and grantee reception. I couldn’t let an opportunity pass to provide some special kudos to his seasoned ability as Director of Conference Services. As the executive assistant and executor of event planning for the Foundation Chris Wilcox was my point person. He provided attention to detail and an ability to make me feel as if I was his most important client whenever I called to discuss something. Chris went the extra mile to ensure that our staff, Chairman Ted Turner and trustees were comfortable and well cared for during their stay and always with his intelligent warm persona and sense of humor. He added special extra touches to the reception area to ensure that it was indeed a “sacred space” for celebrating our DC-based grantees who make the foundation’s priorities come to life. He always juggled last minute special requests with ease and professionalism. With all that said - The Hotel Palomar will be a first choice option for accommodations and events for our trustees and staff in the future. We look forward to seeing Chris and all of you in the future and working as partners toward a sustainable future. Sincerely, Kristine Lohr Witherspoon Office of the President and Board Relations Turner Foundation Duration:

Review on Rooms Only business Thursday, 01 May 2008 Written by mdelafe - Top 50 Reviewer I chose the property based on 1)room rate, 2) size of the rooms, and 3)proximity to our headquarters. The rooms, normal average rooms, were a great size that I felt would work really well for a week-long, very stressful event that involves a lot of studying in the evenings. Our attendees raved about the rooms, and mostly about the incredible customer service they received. Including one of our presenters who, after arriving late in the evening after a full day of travel, realized that she had the wrong power cord for her laptop and more work to get done before her prensentaion the next day. The concierge who was helping her locate the nearest Best Buy ended up going to Best Buy for her so she could relax and then get towork once he returned, whcih is did in very short order. While no one else had such extreme examples, they all raved about the property. We have at least two other departments who are using them for rooms in the next month or two as well. Duration:
