Food shortages ..food costs

The articles abound about the foot shortages and riots over food.  The 24 April USAToday has a story about Sam's Club and Costco curtailing the sales of rice.

I've written lately about the airline crisis (consolidation and fuel prices leading to higher fares and less availabilty of flights to fewer markets) and how it may become very difficult if not impossible for people to get to let alone afford to go to meetings.

With this food crisis (and have you followed the honeybee crisis too?) what will we do as it continues?

The UK's PM, Gordon Brown, called the food crisis a 'silent tsunammi' (www.cnn.com/2008/BUSINESS/04/22/brown.food.ap/index.html)

And I see nothing in the industry's trade press - or am I simply missing it?

Why isn't the discussion on everyone's lips?
