Following up on the blog I wrote this weekend was this superb article from the 18 May, 2008 Washington Post. Read it and then sit down and prepare - for yourself, for your homelife, for your community and for your meetings and facilities.
We're far from prepared and I'm gonna beat this drum until we are.
This morning, on "Weekend Edition Sunday" on NPR, we listened to a wonderful storyteller, Captain 'Fatty' Goodlander, a person who has lived on boats his entire life, tell about his current circumnavigation of the globe. From the seas off Borneo, he talked about his life with his wife as they live life on the high seas.

Said somewhat tongue in cheek, I sometimes worry that I am 'addicted to learning' - that I can't turn it off and I do get 'high' from new concepts and ideas.
I do admit it .. I am a learner - an avid learner and reader. Not the formal kind of learner who does well in school - my learning happens at different times and in different places.

Sometimes a change of scenery does a person good - getting out of one's routine and space.
The last two days, I was in Indiana - surprisingly not there to canvas for my Presidential candidiate of choice for the primary in that state today, 6 May. Spending my early life in southwest Ohio, we went to southern Indiana to see family and friends. It had been years since I'd been back. How beautiful the ride from Indianapolis to French Lick, Indiana - the farm land, the small towns, the beauty of open space.

Day 2 of the ASAE/Center Global Summit on Social Responsibility is done. We did so much good work today to move us to our conclusion on Friday. We took the work of Wednesday, using our dreams and our thoughts about SR in the association community for 2020 and got into how we'd do it.
