Marriott Villas at Doral Hotel Miami: Fabulous Event Staff

Doral is a gorgeous property- renovations had been done but I did receive feedback from attendees that rooms weren't outstanding. Some counters in the bathroom come to your thighs instead of your waist. Also- the layout requires guests to walk outdoors to get from one area of the hotel to another...some didn't like that. I personally taht that was fantastic. There's nothing worse than being at a meeting in sunny Florida and not even getting a chance to breath the air. This forced everyone to get outside a bit and walk around- we did LOSE people that way, but I personally liked that set up.

F&B was very good- the larger dinner I did got poor reviews but overall food was tasty and the presentations were nice. Sushi- was not good for $4.50 per peice.

Lastly- the reason i WILL return, is b/c of my event manager and her event concierge. They were outstanding, which as a planner is a big deal behind the scenes.

Just stayed at this hotel and it's a cute 3 star. Certainly not much more, but loved service, and nice restaurants, etc. Again not 4 star, but good low rated hotel. Cute village nearby for shopping and close to both airports.

I spoke at a conference at this hotel last month and wow - is it beautiful. The service was outstanding! From the concierge who recommended a great off-property hotel (and then walked me to a taxi to ensure the taxi driver knew where the restaurant was) to the catering/convention services staff, everything was excellent.

Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club Hotel Miami: Great renovation and program

The catering team was creative and extremely attentive. The culinary team always provided a 'twist' for each meal and break so we looked forward to what they were going to do next.

The renovation is beautiful and the new pool and cabanas give a great option for a more 'active' pool or retiring to the serenity pool that they have always had.

Even when issues arose as they are inevitable the staff was caring and very responsive.

Hotel is much improved from my last visit 2 yrs ago. Service and product are significantly better. New Pool area is great. New bar/Lounge experience needs work. Bartenders not pleasant or quick to help. Rest of staff was very helpful and went out of their way to be nice. Kudos to Olga who was everywhere during my stay!

Hotel location is still a challenge - No Miami Beach and not near any action at all.
