Marriott Medical Center Houston: Houston Marriot Medical Center Hotel

The ABNS has used the Marriott Medical Center Hotel for semi-annual Board Meetings and examination of young neurosurgeons for over five years. The Hotel itself is not new; however, rooms and meeting spaces have recently been refurbished, and restaurants have just be completely redone. The strength of the Hotel, however, lies in its personnel, many of whom have been there for years, and give very good person service in every aspect from private formal dining to buffets, housekeeping (for the examinations this is an issue), security, front desk, etc. Menu for our opening dinner is worked out with the chef (who changes about every three years) well in advance; the Board pays a premium, but it is well work it (many attendees say that it can't be "hotel" food). They are also good at accepting last minute changes, even making suggestions about them.
In the fall 2007, the ABNS hosted a 3 day meeting of 80 representatives from all 24 Boards. We got the same good service, and food, meeting room setup, A/V etc.
