Hotel 1898: Nice hotel, good location

This hotel is just steps from La Rambla, making it convenient for transportation as well as sightseeing. There are restaurants in and around the hotel and blessedly, a Starbucks. Public areas are nice and comfortable. Free WiFi in rooms. The rooms are particularly nice in a clean, simple European way. Most of the staff spoke fluent English. My only complaint was with room service, which didn't deliver my order for 45 minutes and the food was then cold.

Grand Hyatt Kauai: Beautiful Hotel in an amazing setting

This is a gorgeous hotel. The staff is efficient and helpful. The meeting space is small but convenient. The hotel obviously caters to leisure travelers, but they did a great job with our group. Kauai is easier to get to than I had expected. My only challenge was that everything was expensive.

Attended a Recent Program in October at the Carlton Tower - hotel is very nice 5 star but it was all about the staff. Front desk and restaurants could not have been nicer. The Rib Room was not inexpensive but one of my all time top 10 best meals ever! Function space is located on 2nd floor and breakouts have windows. Banquet F&B was superb. Ceiling heights are a tad low but certainly did not hinder our meeting

Green Valley Ranch: Annual Educational Meeting

From the attendees point of view, everyone very much liked GVR. Overall it is a comfortable, relatively calm and inviting venue as opposed to the glitzy giants on the strip. Conference area is not a huge walk from either guest room tower. Service and staff were above average and the food was outstanding. Kudos to the chefs. However, from a planner's viewpoint, there were some things I found to be lacking. The West tower was a little tired, TV was old and remote was so worn I could hardly figure out the buttons. Housekeeping in the conference area could have been better - brass handles on the doors to the general seesion needed polishing, dust on hallway tables and the registration desk in the conference center. When I pointed out some of these things they were taken care of immediately. The staff was responsive. Contract negotation went fairly smoothly but the credit application and approval process was tedious. We are a world-wide multi billion dollar company and I understand in this economic climate that they have to be cautious but I had to submit the same information multiple times and they still would not give approval until 30 days out from the meeting at which time they expected upfront payment within 15 days. Not a problem for us but I thought a bit of an unreasonable expectation.

I just returned from attending Meeting Masters at Pinehurst. The facility was a great surprise. I had been at the hotel several years ago when the hotel had not been updated, no internet in the rooms but the golf was fantastic. Now the rooms have all been renovated, the internet works and is great and the golf is still FANTASTIC. For any meeting around 100-150 this facility is ideal.

The level of service at this property is exceptional. The hotel also is designed in a way so that even when the occupancy levels are high, you don't feel like it's crowded. I would highly recommend this property for any high-end meeting.

Genereal Comments: Overall we had a terrific meeting at the InterCon, I was a bit nervous booking when the hotel wasn’t open, but all went well! Our client and attendees were very impressed with the sleeping rooms (comments we heard were beautiful, spacious, incredibly comfortable beds, great décor/coloring). The hotel staff were all great (comments we heard were very friendly, helpful, always with a smile). The reception area/front desk is very cool looking, open, spacious, very trendy. The continental breakfast in the Club Room was a nice bonus for the early AM risers, and the lounge is a wonderful area to work in, relax, wait for a flight, etc… The availability to print boarding passes 24-7 AND see the flight options for all airlines is a great plus. The shuttles worked PERFECTLY on Saturday, and having the 3rd extra shuttle was key, thank you for adding it. Excellent option and money savings option too! Very comfortable buses, and the water offering is key. The Banquet staff was very friendly and quick to respond to issues, again, all with a smile, even the woman who maintained the very clean bathroom throughout our meeting – she was a doll! And the bathrooms – WAY COOL! Loved them! GREAT that you are on the recycling campaign, and appreciated the recycling bins at our desk and in the meeting rooms.
